A Christo Crucificado: "No Me Mueve, Mi Dios"

The sonnet "To Christ Crucified" is anonymous, dating from circa the 16th Century. Huff [1948] reports that it was known to and disseminated by the first Jesuits some one hundred years before the first known printed copy, which is dated 1628. (Sister Mary Cyria Huff, 1948. Domenico Mazzocchi (1592-1665) wrote this setting, which was published in Rome in 1640 by L. Grignani as pages 9-11 of
Musiche sacre, e morali : a una, due e tre voci  (http://lccn.loc.gov/90753246).

Art Eschenlauer added the harmony to the unfigured bass (which is indicated with the large notes) and added words in English.
